A registrar manages the registration of domain
names (SLDs) under one or more TLDs.
What is a Registrar?
There are TLD Registrars and Domain Name Registrars. There are only a few TLD Registrars on the Internet. TLD.NAME is such a TLD Registrar and manages the registration of TLDs. A Domain Name Registrar manages the registration of domain
names (SLDs) under one or more TLDs. A Domain Name Registrar is often referred to as 'Registrar'. There are many registrars on the Internet.
There are registrars that do not have online services available,
but most registrars have online registry web sites that allow
anyone to register domain names that are available for immediate
use.
Only when the service provided by a registrar meets certain standards,
the registry can apply for an approval. Registrars that register domain names under gTLDs and ccTLDs will be ICANN Approved while registrars that register domain names under pTLDs and cTLDs might be INAIC Approved.
MyNameSpace.com is a fine example of a registrar that manages domain names under the
.com gTLD and is ICANN
Approved.
Register.World is a fine example of a registrar that manages domain names
under the
.world pTLD and is INAIC
Approved.
